Natural Cures To Combat Bad Breath

How many of us have been on a hot date and connected with them only to be embarrassed by bad breath? Let's admit it first impressions are everything and bad breath isn't acceptable till the third date. The best way to get rid of bad breath is to keep mints on hand - but what happens when you forget them?

Bad breath is caused by bacteria that lives in your mouth. This bacteria will produce hydrogen sulfide - which smells very similar to rotten eggs. That is why bad breath smells so incredibly bad. The bacteria enjoys living in places that are warm and your mouth is just the spot that it loves.

The best way to eliminate bad breath and to counteract the bacteria is to reduce the amount of hydrogen sulfide that is produced. Dr. Kenichi Hojo of Tsurumi University in Yokohama, Japan did his own research on the matter of eliminating bad breath. He recruited a few people and asked them to change their diet.

They were told to eat 3 ounces of sugarless plain yogurt twice a day for a total of 6 weeks. The results showed that 80% of the volunteers had in fact reduced the amount of hydrogen sulfide that the bacteria in their mouth was creating. It is believed that the live bacteria in the yogurt overcame the bacteria in the mouth. Thus it was able to reduce bad breath.

Not just any yogurt will work. You must eat the type that has no sugar and is not flavored. There must also be live cultures in it. You can purchase special yogurt that says on the label “live cultures". The main active bacteria that will work is “lactobacillus bulgaricus" and “Streptococcus thermopiles". The best place to find it would be a grocery store or health food store.

The only bad part about this natural bad breath treatment is that the yogurt will taste very funny to you to begin with. But you will only be eating 3 ounces day and eventually will grow fond of the taste.

This is only one common natural cure for bad breath. The other way to eliminate it is to clean your tongue. Most of the bacteria in your mouth live on your tongue. You can clean it by using a tongue scrapper or a toothbrush. A tongue scrapper is your best bet for this. It is thin and has the ability to reach farther back in your mouth to the end of your tongue. All you need to do is gently scrape the tongue and remove the bacteria.

Where did the term "quack" come from? Cosmetic Dentist in New Jersey Explains..

To the Editor of the Trenton Times:

As a cosmetic dentist in New Jersey, I had my own personal moonwalk this past year, when the FDA announced that it was changing its website to reflect the fact that mercury dental fillings should not be placed in the mouths of pregnant women, and children under the age of six. I am a dental fillings dentist in New Jersey who has had been one of the principal anti-mercury speakers at hearings the FDA held in September of 2006.

For a full text of my speech, see http://www.cent4dent.com/html/mercury_issues/fdaletter.htm

Why it took them so long to change their stance reflects how slowly things move in DC, and also the fact that it takes strong lobbyists and threats of litigation to make anything happen.

In my mind, the changes to the website were a start, but did not go far enough. I was asked by the FDA in 2008 for my opinions on their FDA mercury filling changes, and I let them know it did not go far enough. Why ban it in children under 6 when the teeth that are going to be in their mouths their entire lifetimes don't erupt into the mouth until age 6? Why ban it for pregnant women? Shouldn't the ban be for all women of child-bearing age?

The publication of Mr. Brown's letter to the editor in the December 31st Times deserves some comment as well. While, as Mr. Brown points out, there is a socio-economic stratification as to who receives mercury fillings and who receives composite resin, there is far more to the story than that. Most dentists who are still placing mercury fillings simply don't understand the science. In fact, I would posit that most dentists who still place mercury fillings have never been to a lecture (even in dental school) on the fact that mercury is the most toxic, naturally-occurring substance on the planet surface.

Dentists have been hoodwinked into believing that once placed in the mouth, the mercury fillings become inert. Nothing could be further from the truth. Curious patients should ask their dentist how they store unused filling material, or better still, ask their assistants. Mercury scrap cannot be thrown out with the trash, or flushed down the toilet. Many dentists have a cavalier attitude about it. Ask them why the ADA recommends storage of scrap in a tightly closed glass container, under a high-specific-gravity fluid like anti-freeze. Mercury scrap must be disposed of using a state-licensed hauler and refiner. Dental offices in New Jersey are now required to be equipped with mercury separators to recapture fine particulate mercury drilled out of patients' mouths before they burden sewage treatment facilities.

If you are looking for a cosmetic dentist that does dental fillings in New Jersey, make sure they educate you about your choices. Very often dentists don't even offer posterior resins as an option. The decision is often insurance-driven (isn't it time that dental insurance carriers recognize that posterior resin fillings have been around, and successful for over 20 years? They need to be mandated to pay for them, rather than for the least expensive (and toxic) alternative?) Patients' decisions are often made based on financial rather than health-related costs.

It is time for the dental patients of this state to understand that there is science that proves mercury fillings are not inert. When will dentists begin accepting science, rather than diatribe? The Vimy sheep study, performed almost 20 years ago was designed to prove that mercury fillings were, as the ADA stated, and continues to state "inert". It proved the exact opposite. The ADA's response: "That research was done on sheep, it wasn't done on humans." Talk about trying to pull the wool over people's eyes! The study was duplicated, with the same results, on primates.

Patients (and their cosmetic dentists in New Jersey) need to understand that there is a safe way to remove mercury fillings from mouths: The IAOMT protocol. Anything less exposes patients to unnecessarily high levels of mercury when fillings are drilled out.

There are some patients more prone to the effects of mercury (http://www.toxicteeth.org/MercurySymptoms.doc) than others. Until there are tests to determine who these people are, shouldn't' everyone be treated as if they were in the "more prone" group? Certainly, the reason that dentists began wearing gloves and masks for over 20 years was because we needed to treat everyone as if they were a potential AIDS carrier.

The health effects of mercury fillings in those whose genome is deficient in the APO E-2 allele can be devastating. There's a reason that there is something called "Mad Hatter's Disease". Centuries ago, people who worked the felt to shape hats used mercury to do so. These people went mad. Here's another history lesson for you:

Remedies For Bad Breath - Here is Something You Don't Want to Miss at Any Possible Cost

Bad breath or halitosis, defined as a constant and unpleasant breath odor, is one of the most common problems all over the world. Bad breath is caused by dead cells and food particles collected in the mouth and tongue. Finding the right remedies for bad breath therefore is one thing worth considering.

You can find various home remedies for your oral problems but before you get to consider using them, be sure you consult your dentist for proper guidance. Aside from brushing and flossing your teeth, there are some easy ways to solve your oral health issues. Here are some.

Drink Tea. Studies show that teas, either black or green, contain compounds called polyphenols that are proven effective to stop growths of bacteria that normally cause bad breath. Furthermore, this compound can also help prevent any existing bacteria from developing malodorous compounds like hydrogen sulphide.

Try Mouthwash. Mouthwash that contains zinc ions can help gradually lessen bad breath. To improve your breath, consider using mouthwash available at your local pharmacy or grocery.

Use Tongue Scrapers. Removing dead cells, bacteria, and food particles from your tongue can be done with the use of tongue scrapers. You can find these plastic special instruments at health food stores or your local drugstores. When using tongue scrapers, the key is to gently scrape your tongue and rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash afterward.

There are simple yet practical remedies for bad breath you can do yourself. Just be sure you seek for the proper advise from your dentist before you try using home remedies for your oral health issues.

Why Visit a Neuromuscular Dentist?

For many people in today's world, headaches and neck pain are a daily occurrence. We often attribute the pain to the stress we are under or how busy we are. The pain is often overlooked and not diagnose. Are you one of the millions of people who suffer from symptoms of TMD, such as:

· Headaches and migraines

· Pain or soreness in the jaw

· Pain in the neck, shoulder and back

· Teeth that are overly sensitive

· Clicking or popping in the jaw

· Locking of the jaw and not being able to open or close your mouth

· Teeth that are cracked, chipped or worn

· Depression or irritability

· Ear pain or ringing in the ears

All of these are symptoms of TMD, or temporomandibular joint disorder. TMD is a term that refers to any disease or disorder of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint). The TMJ is the most complex joint system in our body and if it is out of alignment, it can cause pain in many other parts of the body. If you suffer from any or all of these symptoms, then you should seek the help of an experienced neuromuscular dentist.

What is Neuromuscular Dentistry?

Neuromuscular dentistry is a specialized dental practice that differs from traditional dentistry. It is quickly becoming a successful option of treatment for the many people who suffer from problems in the TMJ. Neuromuscular dentists are trained to understand the jaw and the relationship between the joint and the nerves and muscles surrounding it.

TMD usually occurs when there is a misalignment of the jaw or problems with the joint. These specially trained dentists will use a variety of exams and techniques in order to treat the disorder.

Treating TMD

TMD is treatable and reversible with the help of a neuromuscular dentist. The treatments can range from conservative treatments to surgical treatments.

Conservative TMD treatments are the most common treatments because the majority of people who suffer from this disorder do not have degenerative problems with the joint. These treatments can include:

· Physical therapy of the jaw

· Applying hot and cold packs to the jaw

· Eating soft foods and avoiding foods that require excessive chewing or tearing

· Splints or biteplates

Surgical TMD treatments include injections or surgery of the tissue surrounding the TMJ. These are typically only used when there has been severe deterioration of the jaw. These forms of treatment are not reversible, so they should only be used as a last resort.

The cost of receiving neuromuscular dentistry treatments are much higher than traditional dentistry treatments, but if you are living life with constant pain, then the cost is worth it. There is no reason to go through life suffering pain from TMD.

Sedation dentistry can calm dentist anxiety

If the thought of sitting in a dentist's chair evokes strong feelings of anxiety and actual fear, you are not alone. The truth is most people don't actually enjoy visiting the dentist, but regular dental cleanings and occasional dental work is vital to good oral health. People who avoid going to the dentist because of apprehension are doing themselves a great disservice and could be contributing to much more severe dental issues in the future.

Sedation dentistry is a technique employed by many dentists today to help calm the nerves of patients who:

- Have a general phobia of dentists

- Are afraid needles and shots

- Find it difficult to get numb from Novocain

- Will undergo multiple dental procedures during one visit

- Will undergo complex dental procedures

- Experience a gag reflex easily

- Have special needs or physical disabilities

- Find it difficult to remain calm and still during procedures

- Have highly sensitive teeth

- Have had unpleasant experiences with dentists in the past

- Dislike the sounds and smells of a dentist's office

How does sedation dentistry work?

In sedation dentistry, an experienced dentist will use one of several different sedation drugs to alter the patient's central nervous system and leave the patient feeling relaxed. The drug may just leave the patient feeling tranquil or it may actually cause the patient to fall asleep. Regardless of how the drug affects the patient, he/she will most likely not remember the majority of the procedure (including the sounds and smells)"¦an attractive side-effect for most patients. The patient will not be unconscious.

Sedation drugs used in a dentist setting are generally safe. A dentist will discuss the different options available and determine if you are a candidate for this technique. Some common, highly effective choices include:

- Valium (Diazepam)

- Ativan (Lorazepam)

- Triazolam

- Vistaril (Hydroxyzine)

- Sonata (Zaleoplon)

In some cases the patient will take the sedation drug in a pill form (no needles) one hour prior to the appointment time. Because the effects of the drug may last up to six hours, the patient will need to be driven to the appointment as well as driven home by a family member or friend after the procedure is completed.

If you have avoided going to the dentist due to fear or anxiety, sedation dentistry may be the perfect solution to get you back on the road to good dental health. Whether you simply need a cleaning or a cavity filled or you need a more complex procedure such as a root canal or dental implants, sedation dentistry can give you the confidence to take the trip to the dentist's chair.

Side Effects of Teeth Whitening

When considering whitening your teeth, as with everything else, you need to consider what the side effects are. Is it safe for you? Can damage be done to your teeth? What problems could arise when whitening your teeth? As with any other medical procedure, you should consult with a doctor or dentist before you start using any tooth whitening product. Some of the side effects that can be found with any type of tooth whitening product are listed below.

With any gel product, whether low concentration or high concentration, you have to be aware that chemical burns can prove to be a side effect. You may notice a mild irritation or sensitivity in the soft tissue of your mouth such as your gums. This irritation is most commonly found when the chemical trays the gel product is placed is in ill-fitted for your mouth and your gums become exposed to the compound.
Also, you may notice your teeth become more sensitive to pain, cold and heat when you first use this product. Tooth sensitivity is most often felt in the beginning stages of using a tooth whitening product and can last the duration of the use of the product.

Another common side effect is called rebound. This is when the product stops working and you see a decrease in the effectiveness and the results actually reverse themselves.

As with beginning the use of any new product, you have to consider what the side effects are. Do the side effects outweigh the benefits or are the side effects just that, a livable side effect? The choice is yours and only you can make that decision. Just make sure you are well informed on the product you are using.

How to Choose Your Dentist

How do you choose your dentist. A good dentist can make your dental visit a pleasant, painfree experience. An incompetent one can cause a lifetime of regret.

Ask for recommendations from friends relatives and colleagues. Look up the yellow pages. Alternatively you can call up the local dental society. These days the internet can find you anything.

Before you choose your dentist go for a" getting acquainted" visit. Is the general appearance of the clinic neat and tidy? Is the dental clinic location and consultation hours convenient for you? What about emergency after office care? Is the staff friendly and caring?

Enquire about the dentist"s qualification work experience and competence. Some dentists are not qualified to do certain procedures. Does he have a referral system in place for such procedures. Does he keep himself updated professionally? You need to be tactful in asking for such information.

Is his overall conduct professional? Are you assured of privacy and confidentiality? Does he take time to properly understand and record be using your problem?

When the treatment plan is framed ask for clarifications. Does he provide alternative options or push for the expensive option? Ideally he should prioritise the treatment as absolutely necessary and less urgent.

Is he clear about fees? Do not choose a dentist just because he is cheap. A cheaper dentist need not necessarily mean a better dentist. He may be cutting corners elsewhere. For example he may be loading more patients than he can handle or may be using inferior materials . Be clear what the payment schedule will be like. Clarify your doubts to avoid unpleasant surprises later.

Ultimately when you choose your dentist you go by your gut feel. Does he make you feel comfortable. Is he worthy of your trust? If not keep looking.

Dental Fillings Are a Critical Dental Care Procedure For Healthy Teeth

Dental filling refers to the use of dental restorative substance to rebuild the functionality, integrity and morphology of a broken or missing tooth. Such a tooth breakage or loss may occur due to an internal tooth disintegration caused by caries, or due to an external accident. General dentists and even cosmetic dentists usually perform this procedure on patients. Among Chicago Cosmetic Dentist clinics, there are several clinics that undertake various dental restoration procedures.

Dental filling or dental restoration can be broadly categorized into two categories: Direct restoration and Indirect restoration. The restoration can be further sub-divided on the basis of its location, nature and size. A common tooth restorative procedure is the root canal filling that fills the gap where the dental pulp is usually present.

Tooth preparation is a key procedure that is followed before the dental restorative process can start. Under this process the tooth is basically cut with a dental drill in order to create space for the restoration that has to take place. It also requires removal of any tooth decay and any such teeth that may be weak in structure. Once tooth preparation has been completed, the process of restoration is conducted. The restoration can be permanent or temporary in nature, depending upon the condition of the teeth.

There are various Chicago Cosmetic Dentist clinics that undertake both direct as well as indirect tooth restorations and perform the job competently.

Direct restoration: This is a method involving the placement of a soft filling substance into the prepared tooth space and helping to build up the tooth before the filling material hardens. The advantage of a direct tooth restoration technique is that it mostly sets the tooth quickly. Normally it may take just one visit to the dental clinic to finish this procedure. It is mostly recommended where the damage or tooth space is small and not too significant. But wherever a lot of strength may be necessary for the tooth, an indirect restoration would be a better option.

Indirect restoration: Under this procedure, the dental impression from the patient's mouth is taken, and a restorative material is fabricated externally. Thereafter the tooth preparation process is conducted, followed by the restorative process. Some of the popular indirect restorations include inlay and onlay, crown, bridge and veneer. Once the indirect restorative material has been fabricated, it is normally bonded with a permanent dental adhesive or dental cement. Usually this procedure will take at least two trips to your dentist. The indirect restoration substances commonly used are gold or ceramic for they have a long-lasting value and durability.

Mostly, when the indirect restorative fabrication is getting ready, a temporary restoration may be carried out in order cover and protect the prepared part of the tooth in order to safeguard the peripheral dental tissue.

A Chicago Cosmetic Dentist is available for most any needed specialty or service. For more information on finding a dentist or other fun items in Chicago, Illinois visit http://www.bizymoms.com/chicago/chicago-cosmetic-dentist.php

Orthodontics - Tips For Choosing the Right Clinic For You

If you are looking for orthodontics, there are many options to choose from. However, there are vast differences between the philosophies, professionalism and cost between clinics. Braces of any kind usually take months (or years) to complete so it is essential that you shop around for an orthodontist to ensure you find the best fit for your needs. This article will offer factors to consider when choosing your clinic, and at the end of this article contact information for a well respected clinic for orthodontics in Sydney.

The experience of an orthodontist and his support staff will speak volumes about the level of care you will receive. Experienced doctors will usually stay up to date on the most advanced procedure that can increase positive results and comfort for the patient. Experienced professionals will be the most adept at analyzing the bite issues and coming up with the best treatment plan. When choosing orthodontics, it is very important to enquire about the level of experience of both the doctors and technicians who are involved in the treatment to ensure the best results.

Most orthodontic patients do not want to be treated like a number, but unfortunately many Sydney orthodontists do just that. It is important to find a clinic in Australia that is friendly and professional when dealing with patients. Because most treatments take some time to complete, you will be dealing with these people for some time. You will want to feel comfortable with the entire staff, from the people at the front desk to the technicians and doctors. When interviewing clinics about braces, take notes on how thoroughly questions were answered and the accessibility of the staff.

Orthodontics in Sydney have come a long way and patients have a much greater choice in treatments today. You can now choose a doctor that is experienced in the precise treatment you are interested in. For example, if you are particularly interested in Invisalign, you can find a clinic that specializes in these clear braces. While orthodontists are often the popular choice, many cosmetic dentistry clinics may also be trained in the Invisalign procedure.

While the cost should never be the first reason for choosing an orthodontist or cosmetic dentist, it can become a factor once you have narrowed your choices down. There can be a great variety of pricing between offices and patients have the advantage when they take the time to shop around. Financing may also be a concern and you may want to ask about the type of financing available. Teeth braces do not come cheap and most patients find they must pay for the treatment in installments to avoid breaking the budget.

Finding a clinic specializing in orthodontics may take some work. The benefits will be well worth the effort when you end up with an office that you enjoy working with over the long term. Whether you are looking for mouth braces for yourself or your child, take the time to research offices to find the best one for your needs.

Glebe Dental is trained in a variety of orthodontics in Sydney, including Invisalign. If you are interested in finding out more about braces in sydney, contact this friendly, professional clinic on 1300 150 931.

Get Rid of Bad Breath and the Embarrassment That Goes With It!

Get rid of bad breath! Bad breath is also known as halitosis which can occur to anyone. It is an unpleasant odor caused by a bacterium which no one in their wildest dreams would want to have. Even if you are maintaining your oral health properly, you may be still prone to have bad breath. Halitosis can occur frequently or occasionally depending on the reasons that could trigger it. There are a lot of bacteria that are present in the mouth especially residing at the back. This is one chief reason for bad breath. Low or really bad maintenance of oral hygiene is yet another reason to cause bad breath. The mouth is a place full of moisture and warmth which makes it an ideal place for bacteria to grow.

The following are a just some reasons that may cause bad breath:

· Smoking a cigarette or consuming tobacco is also able to root bad breath as they are capable of staining the teeth, eliminating your potential to taste foods, and worsening the tissues of the gum.
· Gum Infections.
· Infections caused in the respiratory organs - throat, lungs, sinuses.
· Foods like onions, garlic, and smoking cigarette, chewing tobacco and consuming a lot of coffee.
· Having a dry mouth due to lack of saliva. This can happen because of medications.
· General ailments - Diabetes, liver ailments, kidney infections, lung disorders, sinus infections, reflux illnesses and many more.

As soon as you come to know that you have a bad breath, your first move should be to consult a dentist who would guide you further to eradicate this problem, knowing your personal history and symptoms. Sometimes, even the type of bad breath your mouth exerts could let you know the source of it. Just in case your breath smells fruity, it is a sign of unrestrained diabetes. On the other hand if you are willing to take care of your bad breath at home, you can try consuming more fibrous foods like potatoes and apples to eliminate this. Get rid of high protein foods and dairy products.

These products trigger the bacteria to cause bad breath. You can also make use of sugar-free gums to ward off bad breath caused by external foods on a temporary basis. Often, this condition is also caused by poor digestion of foods in the stomach. If the food does not get properly digested, toxins are created in the stomach, intestines, mouth and lungs. These are also some major reasons to cause halitosis. You need to make sure that your bowels are cleaned frequently to avoid bad breath which could turn severe if not taken care of at early stages.

The above are a few treatments for bad breath. However, if you wish to eradicate this problem completely, you must strictly stick to a proper maintenance of oral health. If you keep brushing your teeth properly, at least twice a day, this will help in curing this problem.

Houston Dental Implants, Anyone?

One day, a friend of mine in Houston called me up and told me something that changed my life for the better. He told me about this stuff that he said solved the problem that we both had been sharing – paranoia and uneasiness bordering on irritation because of wearing dentures. So, even if I was apprehensive, but because it was a recommendation that was given by somebody I know and felt for what I was undergoing, I flew to Houston to have my own set of Houston Dental Implants. And, lo and behold, I got what I had always wanted after years and years of embarrassment, insecurity and restlessness.

Look at the person beside you. Chances are he or she might have a missing teeth or two. You might even have your own set of missing teeth. If you are 35 to 44, you might be part of the 6% of the population that has lost at least one tooth. Or, if you are 65 to 74 years old, you might be part of the 26% who have “dental cripples” or the loss of all teeth.

As for me, I belonged to the latter group.

But either you belong to the 35-44 or 65-74 or a younger age group who is having problems with teeth loss, with whatever kinds of reasons, one thing holds true. YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS with it, in the same way that I had with my own teeth loss. But that is just part of my past and yours too if you can get it fixed Right Now at a local Houston dentist .

When I was growing up, people always had flattering remarks of my bedimpled cheeks. I never had problems making friends or getting dates. However, because of bad genes, my teeth eventually became fewer and fewer and my smiles become less frequent and so are the flatteries.

Teeth loss is not just plain a problem that affects the person's physical attributes and confidence. Years of having problems with teeth loss also led me to know an interesting but scary medical implication that teeth loss could bring to a person. Many celebrate the stretching of life expectancy, from 45 to 75years of age. Though aging is something that should be experienced gracefully, it also means the little by little deterioration of the body – the “continuous loss of functional capabilities”. According to a research done by Mayo Clinic, people who have missing teeth are likely to die 10 years earlier than their peers who still have all their teeth.” If you do not mind having no teeth or some teeth because of aesthetics of emotional stability, this medical effect should make you think otherwise.

If you happen to be in a situation where you saw somebody's dentures fly when he or she laughed, or know somebody who get disappointed because the host only served difficult to chew foods in a party, well, try to imagine me to be that person. At times, I was usually able to make excuses for any embarrassing situations I got myself into. However, there were just times that all I could do was cover my face because of humiliation. I also lost my appetite because of the thick layer of nasty tasting denture adhesive. Also, I had to constantly deal with sores in my gums because of my dentures' rubbing. Not only those, my face sagged and I looked way, way older than my age. I was living a life I did not imagine possible. But, thanks to my Houston Dental Implants, I am on my way of getting my life back on track.

The Best Way to Get White Teeth Fast! Finally - Real Home Based Whitening Tips That Work

Who else wants to learn the very best way to get white teeth fast? If you are anything like the vast majority of people reading this article, the simple truth is that you place a high premium on a bright white smile, and I don't blame you! Why? Well, in just about every study done these days, the simple truth is that members of BOTH sexes rank a bright white smile as the number #1 MOST attractive feature of your face... and to be perfectly honest, I agree!

So what is the very best way to whiten your teeth super quickly, without a large expense or unsafe systems that could really hurt your health?

Easy! Home based whitening gels and trays, in combination with advancements made in the "science" of whitening from home, have made professional grade results available to just about everyone who wants them, and without having to spend an arm or a leg (or even a tooth!) to get them.

Are all whitening systems created equal?

No, they are absolutely not. For example, we don't recommend painted on or brushed on products or sticks, simply because they don't' work, can be messy and provide an overall poor value to boot. The simple truth is that the key to a really good home based whitening system lies in both the tray, and the concentration of the gel solution that is provided by the manufacturer.

Are Home Whitening Systems Expensive?

No - absolutely not! You can not only get a free trial of several of the most popular ones (including the ones we review) but in contrast to going to the dentist for similar results, the costs are actually downright a bargain! Remember, an in house dental whitening process will run anywhere from 500-1000 dollars, and most often, will require you follow up with the tray and gel at home anyway... which you can skip by STARTING with a home based solution to begin with.

Bonus Tip: Remember, many of the popular home based teeth whitening products are total scams! Painted or brushed on products, strips, and even special toothpastes and low grade bleaching gels may sound good.....but are really a complete waste of your time, energy and income to boot.

If you truly want whiter teeth, and want to make it happen in a hurry, Nutrabrite's patented system for dramatically whitening your teeth while fortifying your smile with essential minerals and nutrients is the ONLY real choice for those of us who need a killer smile that truly turns heads..;-)

Do we recommend anything else? Absolutely not! If you DON'T want to spend the money at the Dentist's office, the only choice left is Nutrabrite, and for a limited time.....you can get whiter teeth almost for FREE as well!

(And here is the most recent Free Nutrabrite Review to help you make up your mind!

Specific Foods That Lead To Bad Breath

Bad breath is generally caused by bacteria, which releases sulfur compounds, when certain changes are made to its environment. In most cases, these changes are caused by food.

The fact that Garlic and Onion causes bad breath isn't news for anyone. But, do you know why they cause bad breath? It's because both garlic and onions have sulfur compounds. Sulfur is often used by nature to create odors. Everybody knows about the skunk for example. The odors that he is releasing are done as a defense mechanism. All that smell is created by his organism with the help of sulfur compounds (one of them is skatoles). If you let food out of the fridge for too long it will become spoiled. This happens because the food's proteins are broken down by anaerobic bacteria. The smell of sour milk for example is caused by the same type of bacteria that causes bad breath in people. And the same goes for meat as well.

There are four types of foods that boost the production of sulfur. They're listed all below:

1. Drying Agents: in most cases alcohol is the drying agent of choice when it comes to food. Obviously, alcohol is also used in most adult drinks, like wine, beer or hard liquor. The real problem is that alcohol is also used exactly in the product that should be fighting the problem, mouthwash. In chemical terms, alcohol is a desiccant.

It's often used in laboratories to reach places that are harder to clean, like beakers or test tubes. The same thing happens in the oral cavity. Something else you should know is that the alcohol doesn't even serve a purpose in the mouthwash. It's just used to make the mouthwash look appealing in the shop. While all the coloring chemicals and flavoring they use isn't soluble in water, but it is in alcohol.

Even though cigarettes aren't food, by smoking you're sure to have bad breath. It's even worse than alcohol.

2. Protein Foods That Are Dense: Everyone knows that you get bad breath if you eat dairy foods. In South California, two thirds of all people are lactose intolerant. Millions and millions of people worldwide can't eat dairy because their organism doesn't breakdown their proteins. If they do eat dairy, amino acids will build up in their organism. Then they will become sulfur compounds, with the help of the throat and tongue bacteria. In a few cases, the same thing will also happen when some people eat chicken, beef or fish.

There are also some rare cases where people can't break down the proteins from beans. This disease is called TMA (comes from Trimethylaminuria), though it's also called "Fish Odor Syndrome". The name comes from the smell, which is the same as that produced by fish that are decaying. The odor has in it nitrogen compounds and sulfur compounds. Those that have TMA aren't allowed foods with dense protein or beans.

3. Sugars: it would be really nice if you could just chew some M&Ms and lose the bad breath. Or how great would it be to get rid of Hershey Kisses. Those that are producing ALTOIDS would want you to believe this is possible. Besides Altoids, there are other products that try to convince people of the same thing, without a real basis. It has no basis in real science and it doesn't make much sense either. You do feel a MINT taste when you put a MINT flavor on your taste buds, but it's only a taste. The sugar that Altoids has will help the bacteria release sulfur compounds, so their claim of helping you get rid of the bad breath is just wrong.

Besides that, the bacteria can also use the present sugars and make glycan strands. These contribute to the creation of plaque on your teeth, which causes gum disease and tooth decay. It also boosts the bad breath. Because you can't really smell your own breath, you think everything is alright, feeling the mint on your taste buds, but not feeling the breath that others are smelling.

The conclusion is that you should avoid mints, candies and chewing gum if you want to keep a fresh breath.

4. Acidic Foods: below are some of the foods that you should avoid:

1. Coffee – regular and decaf coffee have acids

2. Tomato Juice

3. Citrus Juices – Grapefruit, Pineapple and Orange Juice

4. Acidic foods are such a problem because bacteria react in a bad way to their environment.
